Data Sovereignty

Data sovereignty is the principle that data is subject to the laws of the country where it is stored.

Definition

Data sovereignty is the concept that digital data is subject to the laws and regulations of the country in which it is stored and processed. This is critical for: (1) Government data — must stay within national borders, (2) Healthcare data — HIPAA, GDPR, local health privacy laws, (3) Financial data — banking regulations. Morocco's data protection law (Law 09-08) requires personal data of Moroccan residents to be stored and processed in Morocco. Harch Corp's datacenters provide data sovereignty for Moroccan and African enterprises, governments, and institutions.
