The GDPR is the EU's data protection regulation, setting global standards for privacy.
Definition
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the European Union's data protection law (Regulation 2016/679), effective since May 25, 2018. GDPR gives individuals rights over their personal data: (1) Right to access, (2) Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"), (3) Right to portability, (4) Right to object to processing. GDPR applies to any organization processing EU residents' data, regardless of location. Penalties can reach €20M or 4% of global revenue. Morocco's Law 09-08 is inspired by GDPR. Harch Corp ensures GDPR and Law 09-08 compliance for its datacenter clients.
