Wind Energy
Wind energy is power generated from wind using turbines, onshore or offshore.
Definition
Wind energy is electricity generated by converting wind's kinetic energy into electrical power using wind turbines. Morocco has excellent wind resources — especially along the Atlantic coast and in the Atlas Mountains — with average wind speeds of 7-11 m/s. Major wind farms include Tarfaya (300MW), Akhfennir (200MW), and Haouma (50MW). Morocco's wind power capacity reached 1.5GW in 2024, with a target of 6GW by 2030. Harch Corp uses wind power PPAs to supplement solar, ensuring 24/7 renewable energy for its datacenters.
