Server Rack
A server rack is a standardized frame that holds IT equipment in a datacenter, typically 42U or 48U height.
Definition
A server rack is a standardized enclosure used in datacenters to mount IT equipment — servers, switches, routers, PDUs. The most common rack height is 42U (42 rack units, ~2m tall), but 48U and 52U racks are increasingly common. Standard rack width is 19 inches (482.6mm). For AI workloads, GPU server racks are deeper (1200mm vs 1000mm) and require much higher power density (15-50 kW/rack vs 5-10 kW/rack for traditional IT). Harch Corp uses specialized GPU racks with integrated liquid cooling manifolds.
