Docker is a platform for packaging applications and dependencies into portable containers.
Definition
Docker is a platform that allows developers to package applications and their dependencies into standardized, portable containers. Containers are lightweight, isolated environments that run consistently across different infrastructure. For AI workloads, Docker containers encapsulate: (1) AI frameworks — PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, (2) CUDA and cuDNN libraries, (3) Application code and dependencies, (4) Model weights and configs. NVIDIA provides NGC (NVIDIA GPU Cloud) containers with pre-built AI environments. Harch Corp supports Docker and NVIDIA NGC containers on its GPU cloud.
