Network Bandwidth
Network bandwidth is the maximum data transfer rate of a network connection, measured in Gbps or Tbps.
Definition
Network bandwidth is the maximum rate of data transfer across a network connection, measured in bits per second (bps, Kbps, Mbps, Gbps, Tbps). For datacenters and GPU clouds, bandwidth is critical for: (1) Distributed training — needs 400G InfiniBand between GPUs, (2) Data transfer — 100G+ uplinks for storage, (3) User access — 10-100G internet connectivity. Harch Corp provides 400G InfiniBand internally and 100G+ external connectivity via multiple submarine cable systems (AAE-1, MAROC Telecom, Mendall).
